Éloïse Baïet
I am a teacher of French as a Second Language (graduated in 2006 from the Universidad de Valladolid, Spain) as well as a teacher of Spanish (graduated in 2000 from the University of Rouen, France). I have taught these two languages to all audiences and at all levels in France, Spain (Alliance Française de Valladolid) and Halifax (École de la Cité, Garderie Le Petit Voilier in the Grandir en Français program) for 12 years. As a former teacher in an educational program at the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial, I worked in many classes with children from all backgrounds and with varying levels. Since 2019, I have been working as an associate of Martin Theberge Consultant INC . for which I coordinate projects allowing the Francophone community to move forward in many of its health, education and other projects. I am also secretary of the Francophone Chamber of Commerce of Halifax since 2018. When my daughter Ella was born in 2014, I looked for a small French-speaking structure to welcome her in preschool on the peninsula and after having explored all the available options, I understood that I would not find exactly what I was looking for so I decided to create my own preschool as well as my afterschool care program). Over the past 6 years, Le Jardin d'Évra has welcomed more than thirty children who have taken advantage of all the learning possibilitiesto prepare for their entry into school in French as well as the tutoring that the older ones needed while having fun ... NEW START WITHOUT FORGETTING THE COMMUNITY! My family spent 4 years preparing an important project: trying to achieve food autonomy by applying the principles of permaculture. For that we moved in August 2021 to Spain but it seemed to meunthinkable to close the only French-speaking school day care service in a family environment on the Halifax peninsula. This is why I prepared the turnkey FAMILY DIRECTION training that I offered to about ten participants allowing them to continue this service which the community is sorely lacking at the moment. Since my departure this training has been transferred to the Federation of Acadian Women of Nova Scotia in order to make it accessible to all. |
